You can make all of the floral decoration you will need, including centerpieces at a lesser cost when you choose to make fabric flowers. There are simple elegant designs of fabric flowers you can easily do overnight with your friends. You can ask them to go over your house and do simple flowers using fabrics and ribbons and make a date night, rent a movie and watch it while you make flowers.
To make a simple silk flower you need to cut sixteen 8 by 18 straight sided oval. Then gather four pieces in the middles using a floral wire and do the same for the other 12 pieces, that will makefour layers of petals, and then place each layer on top of each other, manipulate the petals to your liking and attach it to a longer floral wire if you are using it to make a bouquet or make smaller version for the groom’s boutonniere. Silk dupion is the best type of silk to use when you are making fabric flowers of these types, because it can easily be manipulated and is not that expensive.
To make another simple fabric flower, you need 7 circle shaped fabrics and then fold it to a quarter. Sew the one quarter folded fabric in the tip, sew the rest of the quartered fabric and then sew the last quartered fabric flower to the first quartered fabric flower. Make a lot of these in different shades of your wedding theme color and you have an elegant wedding bouquet or an intricate centerpiece.
Making fabric floral decorations and bouquets for your wedding is easy and cheap, it will save you tons of money and will last a lifetime; you can show your future kids your wedding bouquet not only in picture but also in real life.
