Commercial machines have set number of heads (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 15, or 18). Where as, industrial machines are available with 12 to 56 heads. Embroidery done with machines can be used as applique work and can be patched onto the garments. The appliqué embroidery can be applied in two ways that is manually hand stitched and with the help of machine.
In the business of computer embroidery, the mark ups of any garment often vary to 50 to 100 percent or more of its cost. Embroidering of any garment is usually priced per thousand stitches and generally, $1.00 per thousand stitches or more is not uncommon as per industry standards. Variation of designs, sizes and colors also affect the cost. Factors like quantity, garment material, size, quality, design, thread type, number of thread colors and more affect the cost and adjustment and negotiations of prices can be done accordingly. For customization of embroidery, the rates vary depending upon the design. Many corporate set-ups prefer the use of customized embroidery because of its uniform quality and unmatched accuracy in making the designs with computerized system.
